The trial of Fritzl
The trial of Josef Fritzl began on Monday in St Pölten, Austria. Today his daughter, who he kept in the cellar underneath his home for 24 years, gave evidence via video at the trial. The eleven hour testimony of his daughter Elizabeth was recorder over four days during the summer of 2008 after she was discovered. Fritzl has pleaded guilty to 'rape, coercion, deprivation of liberty and incest' (The Times Newspaper). Fritzl denies that he murdered a child that Elizabeth gave birth to while in the cellar. The trial is only set to go on for four days therefore coming to an end on Thursday when the jury will be asked to come to a conclusion.
